Someone needs a dual plate clutch by sounds of it lol. Good luck john. Its sounding like your gonna end up looking for a different bigger gear box which is extreme

No room for another box Ken, they had to move the battery under the passenger seat and tip it on it's side to get the engine and box in.

Sounds right, I had a rover with a Peugeot engine in it many years ago and it was horrible to drive lol, manufacturers who buy in engines never really work it out properly. Maybe a silly question but do u use a controller on the gas?

The system is now all WoN apart from the Holley Sniper bottle. Pulsoid controlled by WoN Maximiser. That is triggered by a throttle position switch as the Van is fly by wire. I did have a microswitch on the pedal but it took me a season to find that I could operate it every time by hand, but a foot pushes the pedal sideways and off the switch! I even thought that it was duff nos and I had been sold a tank of air. Steve Wood tested the nos and said it was ok.

Image Just got to get it fitted now. You can see how much is taken out of the flywheel to get it all in to a small space. Top hat is more like a flat cap, about 45 mm fingers to face. Friction is a kevlar mix.

lets hope it sorts out the issues John. I would have expected to see a paddle clutch plate with all the torque you have being put through it.

I think if I upped the ante anymore, then it would have to be a paddle. But, after a talk at http://www.clutch-specialists.co.uk/info-which-clutch, as it is used as a van (pitbike transporter) and 2nd car occasionally, try it at this set up as it will never be trailered to a race. Never know about coming back :oops: .
I can't find any part numbers anywhere. I do know that it is the same sort of Sprinter SMF that I run at the moment but with a bit of machining to take the cover. The pressure plate is a Competition Clutch V6 VW stage 2 or 3. All that is on the friction is Sachs but they don't make a 26 spline centre, so that is made up as well. 500 mile running in should take me to OS1.

It's in and running, pedal is a bit low but I can select gears no problem. May need a spacer behind the concentric slave cylinder, but I will get some miles in first.
The old (3500 miles) csc was broken and had to be replaced. That was un-noticeable though. :?:

Good to hear mate. That's a tad closer than Toms. We still haven't got an engine back from the builders yet.

Still can't understand why it needs 500 mile break in on the clutch. I may lengthen the clutch pedal rod by 1 or 2 mm as that will bring the biting point up. Problem is swapping between two PTs, they are getting more different every move I make. Soon be totally different to drive :roll:
