 Post subject: valve springs

hi every one can any body help ive been to see a mate his building a Chevy 350 with alloy heads and i noticed his valve springs don't sit in the seats in the head they the right springs for cam but diameter they to small will he b OK to run like this or is they anything that should be under the spring that will hold it and make it fit seat in the alloy heads or has he bright wrong diameter springs i did take one out and it fitted perfick into a camel hump cast head any info will be great full :)

Are the valve springs directly on the Ali head or on a thing that looks like a washer

I think he needs to have another look at that. There should be some shims under the springs. These come in various thicknesses to get the correct spring height and pressure.
