Below is the article that's going to print next week and will be in next months edition...

Outlaw Street 2014 Prize Night

The 2014 series of Outlaw Street drew to a close on Saturday 22nd November at the annual prize night & awards held at The Crown Lodge Hotel, in Outwell, Cambridgeshire, a 'quiet affair' consisting of over 35 racers and their partners gathered for an evening of fine wine and food....

Well, that's always the plan, what happened instead was the traditional Outlaw Street prize night consisiting of 35 racers from across the country gathering to see who'd won who'd lost and who'd be angling for next years trophies.

The food and service at the Crown was as ever top shelf with the private dining room taken over as camp 'Outlaw Street' for the evening, back by popular demand prior to the prize giving a 'Petrolhead Pop Quiz' was held with prizes of Hot Wheels cars and bags of chocolates for the winners....

It's scary how competitive a bunch of grown men get when there's a Hot Wheels toy and chocolate at stake.... 35 quick fire drag racing / Americana / V8 questions quickly saw the prize piles amass with battles fought over who answered the quickest and could claim the prize...

This years vast array of trophies & awards was without doubt Outlaw Streets best yet, which we are as ever indebted to our sponsors for their support making everything possible; Joe & Co, American Car, HRG Services, GLU-10-3 Cake Company, WASP, Santa Pod Raceway, Miss. B engraving, HRG Services, Graham Durbridge.

The prize giving hosted by myself, led to a room full of applause and the occasional cheer of 'fix' for those who've been consistently competitive this season.

With only 34 points separating the top 3 the 2014 series was clearly as competitive as ever, with David Mahoney in his supercharged LS1 Corvette just managing to beat Trudy Slater in her Cossie powered Morris Minor to secure the 2014 title, this season has seen a real battle between the Corvette and the Moggy for top slot, with both racers having victories and major mechanical problems only to keep coming back round after round to keep chasing the title, a real credit to both of them.

The Joe & Co sponsored Fastest Reaction Time trophies also a firm favourite of members had been chased all season by everyone, however this year saw one new champ of the RT come through, with Trudy Slater securing 4 of the 8 trophies for the season and going on to win the Fastest RT 2014 with an impressive 0.007 RT.

The Fastest ET of 2015 was won by Andy Murton in his team 'Nevermind' Camaro securing 5 of the 8 Fastest RT's across the season and taking the trophy home with a 9.0258 @ 150.15mph

This brings the 2014 series to a close, congratulations to everyone who participated throughout the year, a huge thanks to all the staff at both Santa Pod Raceway and Shakespeare County Raceway for keeping us racing all season, especially James Forster and Jerry Cookson.

The 2015 series is already planned out with even more new ideas and developments, as I write this article over thirty cars are already signed on for the 2015 series and we're four months away from the start of it yet.
