The next edition of American Car will feature round OS-7, article has gone over for print today an it will feature photos courtesy of Jenny Wren.

Outlaw Street 2014 Race Series

OS-7
Public Track Weekend
At Shakespeare County Raceway

Saturday 27th September to 28th September

As the penultimate round of the 2014 series members were all scrabbling to try and squeeze that one last round in to build points up, sadly for several the toll of a season of hard racing had been too much with quite a number of members having to miss the round due to engines in 101 pieces and hours in the day just running out.

As always the team at Shakespeare County Raceway did a cracking job throughout the weekend to keep the track going throughout the weekend.

Despite suffering engine failure at OS-6, OS-19 David Mahoney in his supercharged LS1 Corvette was back to try and retain his points lead for the season after a manic rush to build another engine, also out to try and do battle with each other for a stake in the points were OS-40 Steve Newport Hall in his '66 Cobra and OS-46 John Latham in his turbo'd, methanol
and Nitrous Oxide powered diesel PT Cruiser (yes you did read that right).

After a season plagued with engine gremlins and bad holiday timing last seasons winner OS-31 Nick Rose was back out in his supercharged Mustang to see if he could make a last grasp of a few trophies for the season.

At each main points scoring round of the 2014 series the highest points scorer for the meet will win a years FREE subscription to American Car magazine.

The top 6 points scorers of OS-7 were:
1. OS-19 David Mahoney in his supercharged C5 Corvette with 224 points

2. OS-46 John Latham in his PT Vanster with 221 points

2. OS-31 Nick Rose in his supercharged Mustang with 221 points

4. OS-18 Vic Fisher in his late model Mustang with 220 points

5. OS-40 Steve Newport Hall is his '66 Cobra with 219 points

6. OS-52 Tim Rose in his MK I Escort with 25 points

As OS-19 David, has already won a subscription this season, as per the rules you can only win one subscription a season and the FREE subscription passes to the 2nd highest points scorer.

Thus, the OS-7 FREE American car subscription goes to:

OS-46 John Latham with 221 points

With OS-7 being the penultimate RT trophy of the season looks like those racing were trying to grab a Joe & Co Reaction Time trophy for their cabinet.

The gaps between the top 6 were:

0.385 of a second between the top 6

0.163 of a second between the top 3

and

0.0108 of a second between 1st and 2nd.......

With the OS-7 2014 'Joe & Co' sponsored RT Trophy & prize money going to:

OS-19 C5BLO David Mahoney in his LS1 Corvette with a 0.050 RT

The top 6 RT's at OS-7 were:
1. OS-19 David Mahoney in his LS1 Corvette with a 0.050 RT

2. OS-31 Nick Rose in his supercharged Mustang with a 0.158 RT

3. OS-40 Steve Newport Hall in his '66 Cobra with a 0.213 RT

4. OS-18 Vic Fisher in his supercharged Mustang with a 0.252 RT

5. OS-52 Tim Rose in his Mark I Escort with a 0.390 RT

6. OS-46 John Latham in his PT Vanster with a 0.385 RT

With only one round left to run this season its a real close match for the top three spots (remember the final points are from 6 of the 8 rounds of the series), which without giving anything away currently means there is still everything to race for at OS-8.

OS-8 is at Santa Pod Raceway during the Flame & thunder weekend.

OS-19 David Mahoney 1334
OS-27 Trudy Slater 1108
OS-40 Steve Newport Hall 1100
OS-46 John Latham 1088
OS-32 Gary Semper 869
OS-7 Andrew Murton 691
OS-42 Nigel Jenkins 671
OS-45 Kevin Shepperson 671
OS-9 Rob Leyman 666
OS-14 Kline Demaine 477
OS-31 Nick Rose 460
OS-18 Vic Fisher 452
