1. It does not matter how many cylinders your car has. (I run a V6 which is quicker than some V8's and there is a 4 cylinder that's quicker than me - So even playing field, if you get my drift).

2. The points system is on a persons best efforts as well as E.T, etc (Read the posts on the forum).

3. You only need to do what suits you, 1 event, 1 day, all weekend, all events - it's up to you.

4. You ain't the fastest but neither am I and I managed to bag Runner-Up in the Championship - so don't worry.

Just turn up and enjoy the atmosphere, after all, were all 'Gear-Heads' ;)

As per the Rules thread:

Outlaw Street is an amateur drag racing series open to anyone who owns a street legal car & wants to enjoy 1/4 mile racing with like minded people and at the same time have an opportunity to win a trophy and be part of the fastest growing drag series in the UK.

The series is open to 4 cylinder & up cars and is spread across 9 race meets throughout the 2012 drag racing season, the series starts at the end of March and runs through until October with an awards & prize night in November, (check the 2012 Race Calender for dates & locations).

The series races at both Santa Pod Raceway and Shakesphere County Raceway at a mix of events including RWYB's (Run What You Brungs's), Peak Performance Days, Lifestyle events & specialist weekends such as the MOPARs, Dragstalgia & VW Action.

The series is actively supported by both tracks with Outlaw Street actively invited to a number of 'invitation only' events throughout the year.

The added luxury with the series is that you don’t have to stay all weekend to be eligible for points, you can just turn up for a day and race for a few hours, which makes the series a lot more accessable to those racers with weekend work/family commitments.

The rules for the series are quite simple:

Your car MUST HAVE:

1. A current MOT
2. A current TAX disc
3. A full functioning exhaust system
4. Tyres with road legal tread depth

Your car CAN’T HAVE:
1. Open Headers
2. Slicks

The points system is built on a combination of 3 factors:
1. Quickest ET on the day
2. Your own personal Improvement from the last race meet
3. Attendance

This means that you don’t have to run the fastest car to have a chance of winning a trophy across the season, as proven by the top three winners in the 2010 & 2011 series.

Points are posted on the forum after each meet so you can track how you’re doing, who’s beating you and who you’vegot to beat.

Although there are 9 rounds in the 2012 series, ONLY 7 count towards the final score and decides the series winners.

Of the 9 rounds the first one you attend counts as your 'dial in' round and as such is a ZERO points round, in addition there is one 'holiday/breakage' round allowed within the series meaning you can choose to drop one round per year and not ruin your chances of being competitive within the series.
